On July 3rd and 4th, the MELISE consortium gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece, for its third Steering Committee Meeting. Hosted by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), this meeting provided an important opportunity to review the project’s progress, discuss future steps, and further strengthen the collaboration among all partners. We would like to express our sincere thanks to AUTH for their warm hospitality and to all partners for their continuous commitment and active participation.

Beyond the consortium meeting, MELISE was also presented at the Thessaloniki International Media Summer Academy (THISAM), a renowned event bringing together students, academics, and media professionals from across Europe and beyond. During THISAM, the MELISE team shared the project’s objectives, ongoing activities, and first results, contributing to wider discussions on media literacy and critical thinking.

An interactive quiz was also organized as part of MELISE’s activities at THISAM, creating an engaging and dynamic way to involve participants. We are delighted to announce that the quiz winner will join us in Barcelona next February to participate in the upcoming MELISE Summer School — a great opportunity to further exchange experiences and explore new approaches to media literacy education.

This double milestone in Thessaloniki represents a significant step forward for MELISE, enhancing both internal coordination and external visibility. The consortium remains strongly committed to promoting critical media literacy among senior citizens throughout Europe, and these recent activities reaffirm our shared dedication to this mission.

Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming events!
