The MELISE Project International Conference invites researchers, practitioners, and organisations to submit proposals to showcase their projects, research, and best practices in the field of media literacy for senior citizens.

The conference seeks to create a space for dialogue and collaboration among academia, civil society, and institutions, fostering networking opportunities and the exchange of innovative experiences.

Thematic lines (include but are not limited to):

  • Media literacy and senior citizens
  • Digital inclusion and active ageing
  • Critical consumption of media content
  • Intergenerational approaches to media literacy
  • Policy, education and community practices for digital inclusion

Submission guidelines

  • Abstracts: 250–500 words.
  • Submit one Word or PDF file including:
    • Title of the proposal
    • Name and surname(s) of the author(s)
    • Institutional affiliation(s)
    • Abstract (250–500 words)
  • Submission window: 2 October – 5 December 2025.

Presentation format
Selected contributions will be presented in thematic panels (15–20 minutes per presentation).

Conference details
The conference will take place on 6 February 2026 at the CCCB (Sala 1), – Montalegre Street, 5, Ciutat Vella, 08001 Barcelona, in person only (no streaming).
The final programme will be published at a later date.
